When planning your engagement party, you may or may not wish to have an engagement toast. Traditionally someone from the bride to be’s family (normally a parent) and someone from the groom to be’s family (also normally a parent) will make an toast to the newly engaged couple. A sample engagement toast may be:
“Thank you everybody for joining us to celebrate the engagement of Joanne and Mark. I would like if everybody can raise their glasses and propose a toast and wish them all the very best on there engagement.”
An engagement toast can be as long as you wish to make it but its best to not draw it out and possibly bore your guests.
The Groom-to-be normally replies to the toast by thanking everybody for coming, thank his bride-to-be for organising the party (if she did) and don’t forget to mention how nice she looks for the party.
